Women’s Sports Advocate Ayishatu Zakaria Ali Ties the Knot
Women’s sports advocate Ayishatu Zakaria Ali has officially begun a new chapter in her life after marrying her longtime partner.
Ghana have been ranked 24th amongst 48 teams that participated in the 23rd FIFA World Cup tournament co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico. The Black Stars who were led to the global showpiece by Portuguese trainer Carlos Queiroz reached the round of 32 as they got eliminated by Columbia.
The Black Stars secured qualification from Group L, as one of the third best placed teams at the tournament, having amassed 4 points in three matches.
The four times African Champions faced Panama, Croatia and England at the group stage but bowed to South American country Columbia. Their performance and statistics, put together placed them 24th at the Mundial.
A performance that has seen Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen acknowledge their efforts when he was hosted in an interview by Akakpo Agodji.
"Oh well, the Black Stars did well at the World Cup considering the matches they played"
"We were not having the Asamoah Gyan's, Stephen Appiah and others but judging from the current players within the setup, I think they did well", He said.
"To be ranked 24th amongst 48 teams at the tournament wasn't a bad performance"
Ghana will now turn focus to next year's African Cup of Nations, where they hope to end their long trophy drought.
