Speaking after the tournament, President of Badminton Ghana, Mr. Evans Yeboah, described the event as a landmark success; “you saw countries like Indonesia, Australia, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Portugal, Thailand among others — all bringing a total of 78 countries, which culminated the event since we began in July 3rd. So, for us, it’s been an awesome journey. It’s been an awesome success with all the performance measures that, as a national governing body, we have put in place, and it’s working well for the future of all the athletes and the country. We’re extremely satisfied. Look, these are athletes that have come all over the world to gain ranking points for Los Angeles 2028. And for us to be able to see the world-class tournament that we have had, it shows that Ghana is capable of hosting mega events.”

He also praised Ghana’s athletes, highlighting rising stars like Moslena and Adu Mintah, currently Africa’s No. 1 in junior mixed doubles, and other junior pairs ranked No. 2 on the continent. He expressed confidence that Ghana’s strong showing would serve as a springboard for upcoming global competitions, including the World Junior Championships in India next month (with 67 countries competing), the African Youth Games in Angola this December, and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, all serving as pathways to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The conclusion of the 21-day badminton series not only showcased Ghana’s organizational capacity but also reaffirmed the country’s place as an emerging force in African badminton.
